The project
Sole traders and small businesses in Ireland are served either by enterprise suites priced for larger firms, or by generic international tools that do not understand Irish tax. NumWise was built for the gap: income tax, USC, PRSI and corporation tax logic, VAT thresholds and Revenue requirements researched before a line of product was written. The hardest problem in small-business accounting is getting transactions in cleanly, so the core of the platform is a parser covering six statement formats from any bank, with vision parsing for layouts nobody has seen before and a column-mapping step as the deterministic fallback - an unrecognised format is a five-second setup rather than a support ticket. On top of that sits the accounting application itself: invoicing, expenses, VAT returns, tax estimation and reporting.
